SDI Receives Certification from
European Underwater Federation

Scuba Diving International, (SDI), is proud to announce that following a mandatory audit of all programs, standards and training, the European Underwater Federation Certification Body (EUF) has given their stamp of approval for all SDI courses. Effective immediately, all of the SDI Regional Offices within Europe have received the stamp of approval from the European Underwater Federation Certification Body (EUF) for their compliance with CEN standards.

In April, 2006 with the assistance of Mr. Stephen Phillips (SDI UK regional manager) and Mr. Chris Demetriou (SDI Cyprus and Greece regional manager), SDI was able to complete the practical audit under the supervision of Dr. Peter Jonas (EUF chief auditor) and Mr. Don McGlinchey (EUF technical auditor). The three day extensive audit covered SDI#8217;s record keeping, standards, Quality Assurance, and a complete SDI Open Water Instructor IEC.

“SDI is very excited to have successively participated in this application process and gained the EUF Certificate for five years,’ stated Sean Harrison Vice President of Training and Membership Services. “Our hard work and dedication to this project was well worth the time and effort as SDI was awarded the longest time certificate available by the EUF. The challenge was met head on, and we are proud to be a fully supported agency within Europe by the EUF body.”

Currently within the European Union, many of the countries#8217; governments are requiring that all scuba certification agencies be approved by the EUF, or they will otherwise not be allowed to issue any scuba certifications to residents of that country. SDI has received the certificate of approval for the following countries/regions:
