SCUBA DISCOVERY: Get a friend diving and they’ll thank you forever

SDI’s Scuba Discovery was designed to be a no-fuss introduction to the scuba diving adventure for folks who are not ready to commit to a full-on SDI Open Water course. And as such is one of the most powerful tools YOU have to increase your pool of potential dive buddies. Know someone who might enjoy diving as much as you do? Signing them up for a Scuba Discovery “afternoon” may be the best thing you ever did for them.

The SDI Scuba Discovery Program is available through most SDI dive facilities.  It will give you buddy  a glimpse into what there is to see and experience  in the underwater world; and it will give them a realistic idea exactly what they can expect to learn in the SDI Open Water Scuba Diver Course; but with none of the pressure. The bonus is, they will finally understand what turns you on about diving.
Your buddy will be shown the basic safety procedures for enjoyable scuba dives under the watchful eye of a certified, active FULL SDI Open Water instructor. They will learn some essential skills such as equalizing ears, buddy checks, basic buoyancy control, and underwater communication.
After being given an introduction to the standard basic scuba equipment that they will use, they will experience an underwater tour in the local marine environment to a maximum depth of 12 metres (40 feet); all under the direct supervision of their instructor.
Who knows, if they enjoy this experience, the SDI Open Water Scuba Diver course would be their next step, and from there… well, the underwater adventure begins.
All your friends need is a towel and swimsuit… equipment will be provided and the fun is part of the package!
