These remarkable divers, chosen as ambassadors, promise to offer you a distinctive glimpse into the life of a public safety diver within their unique spheres – showcasing the passion for public safety diving akin to ERDI. Anticipate meeting each ambassador throughout the upcoming year as we present their stories and experiences.

I served with distinction as a member of the Special Rescue Diving Group under the Ministry of the Interior, Government of Spain, specializing in sea, inland waters, and cave rescues. My expertise includes completion of the Technical Cave Rescue Course with the Special Group of Underwater Activities, Ministry of the Interior, Government of Spain, complemented by diver training in the Spanish Navy.

My extensive training portfolio spans official organizations such as the Government of Costa Rica (INA-Diving Nucleus), Ministry of Defense Spain (Spanish Navy, and Air and Space Army), Ministry of the Interior Spain Police, and Fire Units Spain. I am equipped with specialized knowledge in Technical, Tactical, and Rescue Diving, catering to Police, State Security Forces and Corps, and Armed Forces.

In 1996, I further enhanced my skills by completing the Advanced TDI Nitrox Course. I am proud to hold the title of an Instructor Trainer certified by ERDI/TDI/SDI (Emergency Response Diving International), showcasing my commitment to maintaining the highest standards in emergency response diving.

Tim Andro is the owner and lead SDI/ERDI instructor for Northeast Public Safety Divers, a premiere public safety dive training center for the northeast U.S. He has almost 20 years of recreational and technical dive experience, including Advanced Trimix and Closed-Circuit Rebreather with depths over 200’, and has logged over 3,500 dives (including over 800 deco dives).

He has also been a firefighter for 22 years, 12 of those as a public safety diver, and is the current Dive Coordinator for Mahwah Fire & Rescue Co #1 since 2015, and the current President of the North Jersey Regional SCUBA Task Force since 2019. Tim has run operation for the FBI, US Coast Guard, NY and NJ Port Authority Police, The Royal Mounted Canadian Police in Alberta, and numerous other smaller jurisdictions throughout NY & NJ.

In 2023 after 5 years of development Tim established and launched Divecodes https://divecodes.com/ which is a reporting system geared towards public safety divers

Pato Galaz, is the first ERDI INSTRUCTOR in Chile, retired Sergeant of the Special Police Operations Group GOPE of the uniformed police Carabineros de Chile, Expert in forensic diving accredited by the Illustrious Courts of Appeals of his country, who has participated in different diving operations to recover bodies and/or evidence in the aquatic environment.

His experience has led him to train PSD police divers in the Carabineros de Chile and the Chilean Investigative Police, as well as members of rescue and police teams from different countries such as Mexico, Ecuador, Panama, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Spain, Peru, Argentina, Guatemala.

Pato Galaz, is passionate about the area of public safety diving and criminal investigation, who loves to train PSD divers nationally and internationally in the company of his beloved son José Ignacio, taking his dive center "BUCEO RESCATE" wherever they need it.
