Seek out a volunteer team. I have been diving with our local Sheriff Dept Dive
Team for over 20 years. We are a volunteer team and take new members of all skill levels. We are even happy to take non divers. To get one diver in the water we need least a five man team to keep it safe. We almost always dive teathered and solo with wired communications. Some of our new non diving members become divers after they watch what we do for a year or two. This work does not pay the bills but is extremely rewarding. The team becomes family and the families you help are extremely gratefull. As far as the obvious sad or shocking moments, an individual quickly learns how to deal those feelings. It is not as “Bad” as people want you to believe.
