How to renew your user level ratings:

SDI Visual Inspector Procedures User Ratings:

  1. Reset your VIP eLearning Contact training and membership services team via the chat function or email Training@tdisdi.com
    1. If you did not do eLearning or want to review the eLearning and take a written final skip to step 3
  2. Complete your eLearning
  3. Schedule a course with an instructor. You will be retaking the full course from the instructor you choose.
    1. If you did not take eLearning or are opting to take a written final the instructor will administer this during your course.
  4. Upon completion of the course, as outlined in the standards and procedures , the instructor will process your certification and you will be renewed for 3 more years.

SDI Air Fill Station Technician User Ratings:

  1. Reset your VIP eLearning Contact training and membership services team via the chat function or email Training@tdisdi.com
    • If you did not do eLearning or want to review the eLearning and take a written final skip to step 3
  2. Complete your eLearning
  3. Schedule a course with an instructor. You will be retaking the full course from the instructor you choose.
    • If you did not take eLearning or are opting to take a written final the instructor will administer this during your course.
  4. Upon completion of the course, as outlined in the standards and procedures, the instructor will process your certification and you will be renewed for 2 more years.

All First Response Provider Ratings:

  1. Reset your eLearning(s) by contacting training and membership services team via the chat function or email Training@tdisdi.com
    • If you did not do eLearning or want to review the eLearning and take a written final skip to step 3
  2. Complete your eLearning
  3. Schedule a course with an instructor. You will be retaking the full course from the instructor you choose.
    • If you did not take eLearning or are opting to take a written final the instructor will administer this during your course.
  4. Upon completion of the course, as outlined in the standards and procedures, the instructor will process your certification and you will be renewed for 2 more years.

How to renew your Instructor level ratings:

SDI Visual Inspector Procedures Instructor Ratings:

  1. Request a renewal by contacting the training and membership services team via the chat function or email Training@tdisdi.com
  2. Your elearning will be reset and renewal forms can be found in your instructor resources
  3. Complete your eLearning
  4. Complete and return the ITI Instructor Renewal Form from your resources
  5. Upon completion of this procedure certification will be issued and you will be renewed for 3 more years.

Air Fill Station Technician Instructor Ratings:

  1. These do not require a renewal

All First Response Instructor Ratings:

  1. Every Instructor must go through and successfully complete a biannual peer review with an instructor/Instructor Trainer with equal or greater certification(s).
  2. The peer review shall consist of the Required Skill Performance and Graduation Requirements of the specific course as outlined in course standards.
  3. Upon successful completion, the peer will sign off on the First Response Training Instructor registration/Upgrade Form.
  4. Submit the form to the Instructor’s/Instructor Trainer’s Regional office or World Headquarters at Training@tdisdi.com
  5. Upon completion of the peer review, as outlined in the standards and procedures, section 6.13, the instructor will process your certification and you will be renewed for 2 more years. Other scenarios for renewal and reactivation can be found in the above linked Standards and procedures.

All First Response Instructor Trainer Ratings:

  1. Instructor Trainers maintain their IT status by conducting at least one course at their highest level every two years.
  2. In order to certify providers ITs must still adhere to the Instructor Ratings Renewal Procedure above.

SDI VIP Instructor Trainer Ratings:

  1. Instructor Trainers maintain their IT status by conducting at least one course at their highest level every two years.
  2. In order to certify technicians, ITs must still adhere to the Instructor Ratings Renewal Procedure above.
