Translation Project Manager

Scuba Diving International (SDI) is hiring a Translation Project Manager who has a passion for bridging cultures while expanding our global impact through expertly managed translation projects that align with company goals and organizational strategies.

Job Objective

Drive the successful execution of translation projects, directly contributing to the achievement of SMART goals and expanding our global reach.

Responsibilities

  • Drive project success by creating and managing clear, achievable timelines for priority one, two, and three language translations, ensuring timely delivery and exceptional quality.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including education, marketing, training, and sales, to ensure seamless project execution and alignment with company goals.
  • Provide timely and accurate feedback to senior management regarding project performance, status, and targets, keeping stakeholders informed and engaged.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Education and Communication to maintain target budgets and timelines, optimizing resource allocation and maximizing project efficiency.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all pricing, contracts, orders, and activities, ensuring transparency and accountability for each project.
  • Organize project roles and responsibilities, empowering team members to meet and exceed expectations.
  • Coordinate project releases with all departments as well as working with PO/Website files and different technologies based on the region or department being translated.
  • Support educational, marketing, sales, training, and promotional activities and events, contributing to the overall success of our initiatives.
  • Implement strategies to enhance the efficiency and utilization of our CRM, streamlining workflows and improving data management.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of significant events, such as member updates, conventions, shows, and workshops, creating impactful and engaging experiences.
  • Proactively involve senior management in major and game-changing activities, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes, ensuring consistent and ethical practices within the team.

Relationships and Roles: Internal/External Cooperation

  • Actively participate in team and company planning, ensuring that projects, tasks, and objectives meet or exceed requirements and timelines.
  • Set a positive example in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational, and work habits, inspiring and motivating team members.
  • Demonstrate exceptional ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

  • Navigate the complexities of priority one, two, and three language translations, mastering the art of deadline management in a fast-paced environment.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in project management, translation project management experience is a plus.
    – Strong experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously with competing deadlines.
  • Fluency in at least one foreign language is preferred.
  • Ability to manage complex projects while ensuring high levels of attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external teams and cultures.
  • Proficiency with translation management systems (e.g., MemoQ), project management tools (e.g., Trello and other PM tools), and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and resolve project challenges efficiently.
  • Understanding cultural nuances and the importance of localization in the translation process.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, International Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certification in project management is preferred.
  • Experience in grant writing is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Passion for water activities.
  • Comfort with a dog-friendly office.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) or multilingual.
  • Experience as a Grant Writer is a plus
