ITW New Dates and Locations

The HQ ITW originally planned for 16-23 April 2010 has been postponed until 21-28 May 2010.  A revised application form is available here.

Both of the above programs will be held at International Training HQ, 18 Elm St, Topsham, Maine 04086, USA. 
An Instructor Trainer Workshop(ITW) is also planned for Powell River, British Columbia, Canada between 21-27 August 2010.  The program is open to eligible instructors from SDI, TDI & ERDI and will be hosted by Alpha Dive Services, an SDI/TDI 5 Star Professional Development Center located in the premises of the Beach Gardens Resort and Marina, Powell River.

The Instructor Trainer Rating is International Training’s (SDI/TDI/ERDI) highest teaching level.  Upon successful completion of this course, graduates may teach instructor level courses for all approved levels, including conducting the IEC portion of the SDI Open Water SCUBA Diver Instructor Course.   The cost of an ITW is $3,000.00 US per person.  A minimum $500.00 deposit is required upon application and the full balance is due thirty (30) days prior to the course.  Cost includes Registration Fees, Course Materials (Manual, Standards & Procedures, Evaluation Slates), use of Cylinder & Weights (if requested) and pool fees.  All other costs, including accommodation and transportation, are the responsibility of individual candidate.
 Candidate Prerequisites:
  • Minimum age is twenty-one (21) years old.
  • Current Instructor rating for course in which IT status is requested.
  • Certification of one hundred and fifty (150) SDI Divers* (representing full spectrum of SDI courses).
  • Current medical examination signed by a licensed Medical Practitioner (submitted after acceptance).
  •  200 logged dives.
  • Current instructor for at least two (2) years with no QA’s in the past 12 months.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
*Student Certifications from TDI, ERDI and other recognized agencies may be accepted

Members who do not meet the student count pre-requisite for the ITW but do meet the requirement for SDI IT Staff Instructor level (see current Standards & Procedures) may also apply to enroll on the ITW program but certain graduation restrictions will apply.  Additionally, existing SDI IT Staff Instructors who wish to attend and upgrade to full IT status may also apply.  Anyone requiring further information with regard to IT Staff/IT Staff enrolment/upgrade should contact the HQ Training Department.
