Your May eNewsletter… The glass is definitely half full. More mixed news on the business front with retail shares see-sawing and modest growth in one market offsetting losses in others, but sales prospects in the outdoor, sport and recreation market are trending upwards. We interpret this as good news and it reinforces the feedback we are getting from dive retailers in North America, and most of our regional offices. But, and there is always a but, NOT a good time to rest on laurels and breathe a sigh of relief. In fact, NOW is the time to tighten up marketing practices, and a great place to start is with your customer database. Here are a few items to add to your TO-DO list. - Gather names of your customers and potential customers including any old lists and loose "business cards"
- Compile customer names into a logical, flexible, easy to access database.
- Maintain your database with the most recent cleaning and quality tools
- Append names with email addresses, demographics and lifestyle info as deeply as possible
- Orchestrate direct mail and email creative with a message and look that suits your business
- Integrate the message carried in direct mail and email blasts to promote your brand with your best friends (your customers)
This month’s eNews has several points of interest including the popular Diver Clicks which outlines what YOUR customers are reading about in their SDI/TDI newsletter, PLUS information about an important NEW CCR product that we think your students will be happy to use and keep. And a reminder that we will be attending THE DIVE AND TRAVEL EXPO in Tacoma, WA this coming weekend. Visit us at booth 714 and send your customers to the SEMINARS we will be presenting on Saturday (solo diving)and Sunday (intro-to-tech).
