SDI/TDI Regional Manager is presented prestigious award

SDI/TDI is very proud to announce that on July 23rd Aldo Furrucci, of SDI/TDI Italy, was awarded the important international prize “Tridente d’Oro Academy Award 2011” from the International Academy of Underwater Sciences and Technique. Furrucci earned the award for his participation in the movie Oceans where he served as diving safety officer and underwater camera operator.

This prize originated in 1960 and is the most ancient prize in the world for u/w activities. It is considered “the Nobel for underwater activities”. Over the years, 180 Tridente d’Oro have been awarded. Some notable past awardees include Jacques-Yves Cousteau, Walt Disney, Folco Quilici, Jaques Picard and Enzo Maiorca. The award often times goes to scientists, journalists, researches, pioneers and teachers that are considered to display excellence in their underwater activities.
