The Regional Office for Italy and Italian Switzerland.
Our peninsula is home to seas with a temperate climate and a wide variety of marine flora and fauna, as well as freshwater environments that are extremely interesting for their conformation and ecosystem.
Both the seas and the lakes offer the possibility of simple and relaxing shallow diving with waters that reach tropical temperatures in the summer, but also more challenging sites suitable for technical and exploratory diving, both environments rich in caves and caverns.
Our sea reaches maximum depths that exceed 5000 meters and our lakes reach more than 400 meters deep.
Italy is surrounded by the sea and its waters are rich in archaeological remains, indicators of millenary settlements, at the same time the trade with other continents carried out by sea and the maritime wars with other populations have scattered our bodies of water with wrecks , ancient ships, aircraft carriers, submarines, oil tankers, even these positioned throughout the territory at depths for all tastes. To the hundreds of wrecks are added many others still to be discovered, exploratory expeditions are on the agenda, in search of the past of this rich and interesting country.
