How was your first dive (sport diving)?

My first dive was one of the most memorable experiences of my life! After ascending, I remember thinking, why the hell haven’t I done this sooner?! It was 15 years ago in Seychelles, at the dive site Alice in Wonderland, and I haven’t stopped diving since.

What made you transition from sport diving to technical diving?

After my first dive, I got back to Serbia and started looking for the club to begin my official diving training. My attention was drawn to Triton Diving Club, which stood out in the diving community due to their high-quality training, dedication, and technical diving section. I was hooked on tech diving from the beginning of my training! So, there wasn’t a transition, actually.

What type of technical diving do you practice?

I enjoy CCR diving and diving in overhead environments.

What do you consider when looking for technical diving training?

The crucial thing is to choose your instructor wisely and to give yourself enough time to absorb new knowledge and master new skills. Do not rush it, enjoy the learning process. Unfortunately, we live in a world of hyperproduction of everything, so double-check the credibility of your instructor.

What challenges have you faced as a woman in technical diving?

When you are a woman in a male-dominated sport, you are often underestimated. Ladies, surround yourself with reliable, experienced, and supportive buddies. Set your goals and work hard towards them. Do not give up just because the training is harder than you expected!

Have you faced any really difficult moments while technical diving? How did you overcome them?

When I switched to CC after 13 years of OC diving, it was a huge change for me! It felt like learning to dive from the beginning. I started questioning myself if it was the right thing to do. Thanks to my instructor and teammates, who were very helpful and supportive, it turned out to be one of the best decisions I made in my diving career.

What places in the world would you love to dive in, and why?

There are many dive sites I would like to dive in, especially when it comes to caves and wrecks. My goal in diving remains the same: to keep learning, practicing and improving myself in each segment of technical diving!

Do you have a dive buddy you trust completely?

Yes, I am lucky enough to have not just one dive buddy I trust completely! Instructor Trainer, founder and leader of Triton Tec Team Mirko Bevenja is my special buddy. There are also my precious teammates, Damir and Marko.
