Just 30 miles north of Palm Beach you will find the new TDI HQ. With the Gulfstream in our backyard, the diving is good and warm year-round!

    I was wondering what the cost and time requirements are for ITW? I have been teaching for a few years and would like to open a dive shop or dive charter business in the islands.

      SDI/TDI/ERDI HQ says:

      Hi Dave,

      The ITW runs 8 days and involves classroom, pool/confined water and open water sessions. The cost is $3000.00 plus all travel expenses,
      Below are the prerequisites for the IT level.

      1. Minimum age 21
      2. Provide proof of 300 logged dives
      3. Be an active SDI IT Staff Instructor and have conducted a minimum of 1 instructor development course (IDC)


      4. Be an active SDI Open Water Scuba Diver Instructor who has assisted with 1 complete instructor development course (IDC) and has completed the IT Staff Instructor training program with SDI Headquarters Staff

      5. Have issued a minimum of 200 SDI Diver certifications at various levels, or equivalent, suggested levels as define below:
      a. 150 open water scuba diver
      b. 20 rescue diver
      c. 25 specialty diver
      d. 5 divemaster or assistant instructor
