Lewis Kam Wing Tang: SDI Instructor Trainer Ambassador
I’m Lewis Kam Wing Tang, my friends and students call me “BRO-WING.” I’m honored to be a part of the SDI Instructor Trainer Ambassador Program. I started my diving since 1980 and started my first job in dive equipment agents company. I became an Instructor in 1989. Started my Dive Shop “Blue Lagoon Dive Academy-Hong Kong” from year 2000. I’m so enjoy diving are my sport, job and hobby.
What do you believe is the most important trait of a professional educator and why?
As an educator, I believe honesty, behavior, good attitude and patience. That coming back are friendship, trust and respect. Of course the best part, professional payback “INCOME.”
What is your favorite SDI class to teach and why?
I love to teach beginners, such as Open Water Diver and Instructor. I try to help the beginner to learn diving from nothing, to become a good diver, or even become Instructor, feeling so good and success.
What is a bucket list dive you still have?
I’m so enjoy my entire life with my love one, not only diving. I love to find anything “I don’t know” to learn. Traveling is also my favorite. TRavel and explore someplace I never been there! Or some activities I never try!
What is one bit of advice you would give to a perspective Instructor candidate about to embark on becoming an SDI Instructor?
From the day after Instructor exam, I just say the right time to start to learn again “What is Diving.” Because some much different kind and subject of diving from SDI TDI ERDI that enriched your entire life and also generalize your students or follower.
