Trimix Instructor Course

While using helium-based breathing gases, the TDI Trimix Instructor Course delivers the training required to teach trimix diving that requires staged decompression. Utilizing gases containing no less than 18% oxygen, candidates will complete the four required dives up to 60 metres/200 feet.

Topics that candidates may be asked to present include:

  • Hypoxia
  • Nitrogen narcosis
  • Helium absorption and elimination
  • Counter diffusion
  • Dive planning
  • Gas switching procedures

Trimix Instructor Course Prerequisites:

  • Minimum age 2l
  • Minimum certification as a TDI Trimix Diver and a TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures Instructor, or equivalent
  • Proof of 15 certified advanced nitrox or decompression procedures divers; minimum of 10 must be decompression procedures divers
  • Provide proof of 250 logged dives with a minimum of 20 logged Trimix dives outside of training, 10 of these dives must be in the last 12 months
