Since I was five years old, I have been fortunate to take part in many sports, but especially field hockey. I attended a CREPS (Regional Center for Sports and Physical Education) for two years and joined the French national team. I trained daily and competed almost every weekend and during school breaks as part of several teams: my club, the CRIF (Comité Régional d’Île-de-France), and the French national under-16 and under-18 squads. These experiences gave me a taste for training with purpose, persevering through challenges, and pushing myself to excel—qualities that continue to guide me throughout my life.
When I was 22, everything changed after a motorcycle accident in which I lost my foot. Adapting to this new reality was not always easy. But thanks to determination and resilience, I managed to get back on my feet, resume training, return to work, start a family, and even discover diving—a lifelong fascination of mine.
For about 15 years, I worked in commerce (B2C, B2B, as both an employee and self-employed). Over the years, my passion for diving only grew stronger, fueled by regular dives and travels that revealed the beauty and diversity of marine life. Eventually, it became clear to me that I wanted to turn this passion into a profession. Today, I am a DEJEPS (E3) certified independent instructor and founder of “Sérénité Plongée,” a diving school in the Montpellier region.
I believe society’s view of disability is evolving, and I want to contribute to this change by showing that it is absolutely possible to achieve one’s dreams.
