About Tarrant

Tarrant was born in Richmond, Virginia in 1991, and was certified as an SDI open water diver when he was 14 years old and was hooked instantly. Since then he went to college at Jacksonville University and got a degree in History and Geography, while also shooting competition shotguns for the college. After graduation and many, many, many attempts to get a “real job” he decided to chase his passion.

This led him to a dive shop in his hometown, where he worked on becoming a Divemaster and later moving down to Florida. In Florida, he would get to work in some of the most well-known aquariums in the country and world. He later left and worked in the US Virgin Islands for a few short years. After getting an eviction notice from mother nature via Hurricanes Irma and Maria, he decided it was time to move on.

He received some tech training from TDI’s own John Chatterton, and then accepted a job and is currently residing in Chuuk (Truk Lagoon). Here he is a technical dive guide and takes dives on all kinds of dives. In his spare time, of which there is little, he is typically reading a good dive book or planning his next big adventure in the pursuit of his passion and goal of diving 1000 dives in each of the world’s five oceans!
