2023 TDI Tech Party to Honor Bret Gilliam
A Message from Brian Carney:
Recently we received the unfortunate news that we lost a founder of our organization. Bret Gilliam was a pioneer to the diving industry, but to us he was even more.
He was our friend, our mentor, and like another parent. He is responsible for many people around the world having careers in the diving industry, myself included. For those of you who had the chance to meet with him and really got to know him, you know he was always looking to make people laugh and have a good time. One of his final wishes was he didn’t want people to mourn his passing, but to just throw a party.
Based on Bret’s wishes we’re doing just that. Although we had not planned for this, we only thought it was appropriate to throw a party. Celebrating Bret and all that he meant to us at DEMA in New Orleans. The ironic part is this is the first place TDI had the Tech Party.
